.......Happy Birthday to you!!! It's official....Jonathan is no longer a thirty year old bishop. His birthday was filled with many kind words, gifts and foods. Monday night we had Chicken Saltimbocca (the best dish on the planet-hands down) and opened gifts at home. Ethan gave his daddy some cars (pretty obvious he picked them out himself) and I gave him a framed old newspaper article from his cycling days, P90X (thanks, Matt!), and a compilation of reasons his friends and family love and appreciate him (to which he still can't seem to thank me enough for - he definitely needed it). Tuesday was busy!!! In the morning he ate breakfast in bed, the boys delivered some balloons and treats to him at work around noon, we went to a friends house to make a cake for him, and in the evening we had dinner and cake with our good friends, the Bodners. I made a creamy and delicious mushroom risotto, grilled veggies, corn on the cob, and homemade french bread. They supplied the fruit, the slow-cooked ribs, IBCs, the home, and the great company. The Boston Cream Cake was incredible (thanks to Mande)! What a great birthday! To those who emailed a note to me for Jonathan (and you know who you are).....THANK YOU tremendously! It was just the kind of boost he needed to put his head up and keep swimming. He will treasure those words and read them for as long as he can remember where he put them. :) We love and appreciate you all!
