We're finally here after 6 months in New Zealand! Montrose, Colorado is where we have decided to call home, at least for the next five years while we pay off med school loans. It was such a wonderful feeling to finally see Jonathan's name on a sign outside his building and to know that we had finally made it! All those years of blood, sweat, tears, being over-worked and under-paid, loneliness, drama, and enduring to the end! now we finally get to breathe a little, relax a little, and settle into some sense of normalcy. Yippee! We are renting a home and are down to one car again but we are only 1 1/2 blocks from Jonathan's clinic so most days he rides his bike to work and on days he takes the car I walk to the store, park and library with the boys. We have planted a fairly large garden (not quite up to NZ standards, but close) and we are already harvesting zucchinis, strawberries and herbs. We have pumpkins, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, spinach, lettuce, beets, onions, sweet potatoes, etc. to come!!
It snowed on Jonathan's first day of work!!!! What a great surprise! Jonathan LOVES snow and we skipped winter this year so it was absolutely perfect!
