Queenstown

After the Catlins and Curio Bay we headed north to visit our good friends Chip and Lindsay Keller in Queenstown.  What spectacular resort town!  Aptly named for being 'fit for a queen', Queenstown is bubbling with life and excitement, seeing as how it is the birthplace of bungy jumping.  Jonathan tried to get me to tandem jump with him but I could not face the fact that our kids could potentially be without both parents.  We stayed in the Keller's posh apartment with amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains.  Many parts of Lord of the Rings trilogy were filmed in and around Queenstown and Glenorchy (including current Hobbit filming).  It is no wonder why.  There are just not enough adjectives to describe the amazing scenery.  We even stumbled upon the same place as the cover photo of our New Zealand atlas!

Beautiful Glenorchy

Thanks for showing us around, Kellers!
