Imogene Pass

We met the Barney family at the beginning of Imogene Pass (2nd highest pass in CO, connecting the towns of Ouray and Telluride) a few weekends ago.  They were camping nearby and we definitely needed guidance over the pass since the clearance on our Jeep is not ideal for roads like these, since it is for experienced drivers only.  It was great to see them!  After driving up and over the 13,114 elevation pass I still think my husband is crazy for wanting to run it again in a few weeks.  Just plain crazy.

You thought I snuck a New Zealand photo in...didn't you!  We were shocked to see such green moss at such a high and dry place in the midst of an old quart-gold mining settlement.  Interesting.

After to made it to Telluride (the Aspen of western Colorado), we took the free gondola to Mountain Village and watched some amazing downhill mountain biking races.
