The Catlins - Purakaunui Falls

This is a spectacular walk through podocarp to the Purakaunui Falls. The vegetation was so unique and the birds sounded amazingly different than anything we had heard. I wish we could upload the sounds somehow.

The Silver Fern in endemic to New Zealand (meaning found no where else in the world). It is the symbol on the alternative (and most displayed) flag of New Zealand and the All Blacks rugby team.

Since we couldn't agree on which shot we liked most, here are two. One where the water looks amazing but the setting is horrible for children, and one where you can see everyone really well but the flash makes it look like a ride at Disneyland. Still, any amount of pics wouldn't do it justice, of course.
